Data Deletion Instructions

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Two different kinds of deletion

Chatity is used by businesses (salons, studios, independent professionals) and by their customers. Because of that, there are two separate deletion flows:

WhoWhat is deletedHow
Business account (Chatity customer)Your Chatity account, salon settings, team, bookings, conversations, client records, integrations and tokensDashboard β†’ Settings β†’ "Delete account", or email privacy@chatity.io
End customer of a businessYour client record, bookings and conversations held by one specific businessContact the business you interacted with (the data controller). The business can delete a single client from its Clients section; Chatity assists as processor

Data a business stores through Chatity

  • Account and business information (owner name, email, business name, billing)
  • Chat history across connected channels (website chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, phone)
  • Booking records: client names, phone numbers, appointment details, visit history
  • Marketing preferences and consent evidence
  • Integration credentials for connected services (WhatsApp, Instagram, calendars, payments)

Retention

Personal data is not kept indefinitely, but retention depends on the purpose of the data and is set by the business using Chatity (the data controller):

  • Conversations: retained for the period configured by the business (default 90 days), then deleted or anonymised
  • Client records and booking history: retained while the business maintains a client relationship, according to the retention policy it configures
  • Marketing consent evidence: retained for as long as proof of consent / opt-out is required
  • Integration tokens: deleted or invalidated when the integration or the account is terminated
  • Invoices and accounting records: retained for the period required by law

Earlier versions of this page stated that booking records are automatically deleted after 30 days. That statement no longer applies: booking history is part of the client record and is retained according to the business's configured policy.

How to request deletion of your Chatity account

  • Option 1 β€” Self-service: log in, open Settings and use "Delete account". Your data is removed immediately and connected integrations are disconnected.
  • Option 2 β€” By email: write to privacy@chatity.io from the email address of your account with the subject "Account deletion request".

We confirm receipt within 48 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days, as required by GDPR Article 17. Payment and invoicing records are anonymised and kept only as required by accounting law.

How to request deletion of your data held by a business

If you are a customer of a salon or professional using Chatity, please contact that business directly β€” it decides how your data is used and retained. If you cannot reach the business, write to privacy@chatity.io with the business name and the phone number or email you used; we will forward the request to the business and assist in fulfilling it.

Replying STOP to a WhatsApp message withdraws your marketing consent immediately; appointment reminders for your own bookings continue to be sent.

Meta platform data (Facebook Login, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger)

Data obtained through Meta integrations is deleted together with the connected account or when the integration is disconnected in the dashboard. You can also request deletion using the email above.
